Hey everyone!  This is Dan Nokes of 21st Century Sandshark Studios, pulling duty as the small press guru for VIRGINIA COMICON!  Im here once again to give you the laydown for this roll call of indie comic goodness for the July 8th outing!  We begin our roll call of underground fun with:

BILL MCKAY: Is a Southern Maryland mainstay, who’s art is seen in various Moonstone Publishing titles including ZOMBIES VERSES CHEERLEADERS!  More on this craftsman of the pencil can be learned by clicking here:

TROY ZUREL: Is a penciler/inker from the Virginia Area with a laundry list of credits including WATCHGUARD, RETURNED, ISLAND TALES, and THE HANDSOME DEVIL!  Some of Troy’s rockin conventional and digital work can be found by moving and clicking your mouse here:

KEIR LYLES: is one of the masterminds behind APOCRYPHA COMICS STUDIO and is another SOUTHERN MARYLAND RESIDENT to boot!  More about Apocrypha can be ascertained here:

LEONARDO CRESPO: Is the the writer/ artist behind the Puerto Rico themed comic TORO.  Interested in learning more?…Follow this simple link:

TIM DZON: Although this individual is best known for his work on some high profile 90’s titles such as WEST COAST AVENGERS, GI JOE, AND SPIDERMAN UNLIMITED, he is now tackling some indie projects after a 10 year absence from the business!  More about Mister Dzon and his art can be found here:

MICAH ACORD: Is a fledgling writer/artist from the Floyd, Virginia area.  We hope to learn more about this up and comer!  Until then here is some info on the new kid!!

ELIZABETH “PHOENIX” AGIN is another newish type to the con who is hoping to turn some heads with her artistic renderings and portfolio!  More on this creative type can be ascertained by clicking here:

DAN NOKES: Not only runs the small press section of the VA COMICON but is also a one man creative indie dynamo with his imprint 21ST CENTURY SANDSHARK STUDIOS!  He will be bringing some of his wares including his latest effort ADAM AND EVE: BIZARRE LOVE TRIANGLE IN THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE!  More on Dan can be learned here:

PRISCILLA KEELER: Is a one woman band with her creative sanctuary known as Phantom Blush Studios.  Her webcomics include such endeavors as SUFFOCATED BY CATS, THE LIFE AND TIMES OF MORGAN LEFEY, AND CATCHING UP WITH FAST FASHION.  More about her web endeavors can be ascertained by simply clicking onto her site!

CHRISTOPHER OTTO: Is a welcomed valued regular feature at the Virginia Comicon!  This webcomics craftsman is best known for his tongue-in-cheek sequential internet romp known simply to his devoted fans as A DOG’S LIFE!  To learn more about Mister Otto and his webernet foray follow this link type thing….

ICONOGRAPH STUDIOS:  Is made up of David Hindelang, Mark Peasley, and Stephen Burks!  These indie jacks of all mediums cover comics, art, web and even the world of motion pictures!  They delivered big time on the 2-day show exclusive official print, as well as many other designs!  Check out their blog site at or some of their homegrown video work from their webseries PHENOMENA at YouTube at this handy dandy address!

JARED CULLUM- is another web comics creator with his quasi off beat slice of life foray: PEA GREEN COFFEE CUP!  Jared will be spreading the word of his internet venture and possibly selling some merch and commision type stuff?  You never quite know???  Here’s a link to get you all more familiar!
